Safe experience for children online experience
We work hard to keep videos on YouTube Kids family-friendly and use automated filters, human reviews and parent feedback created by our engineering teams to protect our youngest users online. But no system is right and can't slip inappropriate videos, so we're constantly working to improve our safety and provide more features to help parents create the right experience for their families.
Customize your child's experience through Parental Controls
Limit screen time: Set a time limit to help your children see how long they can see and promote the transition from watching to watching.
Continue with what they see: just look at the page again and you'll always know what they've seen and new interests they're exploring.
Blocked: Don't like the video? Block a video or an entire channel, and never watch it again.
Flagging: You can always alert us for inappropriate content by flagging a video for review. Flagged videos are reviewed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Create unique personal experiences like your children
Create up to eight child profiles, each with their own viewing preferences, video recommendations and settings. Select from the "Only valid content" mode or select an age category that suits your child, "Preschool", "Younger" or "Older".
Select the "Only Valid Content" mode if you want to handpick the videos, channels, and / or collections that your child is allowed to watch. In this mode, children will not be able to find videos. "Preschool" mode, designed for children and children under 4, promotes creativity, playfulness, learning and exploration. "Younger" mode allows children to explore their interests in a variety of subjects, including 5-7 songs, cartoons and crafts. While our "older" mode gives kids 8 and more the opportunity to find and discover additional content like popular music and gaming videos.

Our library is full of family-friendly videos on all different topics, illuminating your children's inner creativity and playfulness. He’s learning how to make a model volcano (or make a slime ;-), from his favorite shows and music, and everything in between.

YouTube includes paid ads to give kids the app for free. Your child can also watch videos with commercial content from YouTube creators who don't have paid ads. When your child uses YouTube Kids without signing in to their child's Google Account, the YouTube Kids Privacy Notice applies.
